Details of your local Probate registry

The probate registries are all government led offices, as such like many division of the government they can be difficult to contact. The Probate Service Centre manages your probate applications at their central service centre. Here, you can find where to send your documents or ask about your application’s progress.

The probate registry details can be found in the table below and by following the link here: https://www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk/courts/probate-service-centre

The easiest way to find a probate office is to use the UK government’s court and tribunal finder:  The court and tribunal finder will return the probate office locations and e-mail addresses of each probate office, but the phone number it offers for each office (0300 123 1072) is HMRC’s probate and inheritance tax helpline, rather than being specific to the individual probate office. You can’t use this number to pay your probate registration fee. Because of this, we’ve listed the phone numbers to call for individual probate offices below. All registries are open on Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4pm.
